Pierre, used to Rod Fishing Club, is the only angler aboard Black Marlin for once. Comfortable…
1st trip of 58h, on the Eastern Bank.
Sea is quiet on the way up. We then catch a big blue marlin on Marlins’ Bd… that unhooks! Trolling, there are numerous yellowfin tunas between 8 and 15 kg,
some wahoos (17kg for the biggest),
nice barracudas (the biggest of 18kg) as well as a very big sailfish… that unhooks too! Baiting on the Eastern Bank is not great: a 26kg dogtooth tuna and a barracuda about 15kg.
2nd trip around Rodrigues.
Trolling: nice yellowfin tunas (26kg for the biggest) and wahoos (biggest of 16kg) as well as dorados and skipjacks by a very rough sea and in the rain! Baiting: doggies between 12 & 20kg. Bottom fishing provoded the usual species of fish: jobfish, black and bluefin trevallies, rainbow runners, red snappers, sharks, etc…
If big pieces of fish were reluctant to our baits, the crew quite appreciated the delicious refinements and delicacies that Pierre had brought from his region. Thank you so much Pierre! Come back whenever…
