Momo is on his own aboard Black Marlin for a 58h on the Eastern Bank. Sea is okay. Sunset brings some dogtooth tunas, baiting (between 15 and 30kg). On the 2nd day, we fish in heavy rains from 11.00 AM to 06.00 PM. Wind grows, sea inflates but fishing is good.
From 08.00 PM we have to store the carbon rods (because of lightnings and thunder). We tuck in the boat and wait for the washing machine to stop… letting the boat drifting (radar on duty of course). On the following day, at 06.00 AM we discover the conditions in which we are (sea is white, wind is harsh and waves are high).
During the night, we drifted along 20 miles towards Rodrigues, waves are 5 meter high and wind is over 30 knots. On the way, we have waves backward… rods stored in! Maurice deserves his diploma “all weather’s type”! The 58h converted into a 46h. That was pretty big!
