Claudius, Bruno Jacques et Christophe (France)
For his 21st trip with RFC, Claudius matched up with Bruno (his 1st trip in Rodrigues) and our Chtis friends for their 3rd following trip.
We go to the Eastern Bank for a 82 hours trip. Sea is rough and it even increases on the bank. Trolling activity is low; just a few trevallies and doggies jigging at night.
The 2nd day starts well with a black marlin about 150kg released by Claudius and nice yellowfin tunas (23kg the biggest) and wahoos (19kg for the biggest) punctuate the day. The Speed Pro Deep 180 (Williamson) made the difference on these species. Doggies (24kg for the biggest), seriolas, black trevallies and jobfish are caught jigging. Sea is growing badly and forces us to head towards Rodrigues by Marlins’ Bd where we’ve never ever seen so many dolphins. The 3rd night, everyone sleeps in a stable bed.
The 4th day we head Western for the day where jigging activity is nice with barracudas, doggies, bluefin trevallies, and yellow spot ones, red coral trouts, red snappers and rainbow runners. 3 giant trevallies between 15 and 20kg are released. For once, jigging is better than trolling.
