This is the last day of our season. Claudius extended his both previous trips and tried his luck very deep jigging and very deep baiting.
If weather conditions are not that good for this kind of fishing techniques, motivation is high. The morning jigging is so-so with the four first drops between 200 and 250m deep are 4 strikes: 2 sharks that immediately cut off and two other nice pieces were cut as well. After having changed spot twice and a few rosy jobfish later, we only find activity in the middle of the afternoon where nice groupers and other very deep bottom fish like our baits (down to 450m deep). At the end of the day, Claudius manages to catch beautiful rosy jobfish, a nice seriola of 18.5kg (new club record) and a very nice barracouta, worthy of a horror movie.
Now it’s up to the Black Marlin’s annual servicing, in order to be ready for the next season in September. During the next few weeks, we shall put online the last videos of our last trips. These videos will be online on our Facebook Page, You Tube or on our website: www.rodfishingclub.com.
