Claude et Philippe (France) Laurent & Tony (Switzerland)
Tremendous, exceptional, unbelievable! This group from France and Swiss, keen on big game fishing, has left its mark on Hawkins. They made a jump in, from 176 to 183, on the clock of the doggies of 50kg and more, caught aboard Black Marlin since March 2005, with 7 new dogthooth tunas: 50, 50.5, 51, 69, 73, 79 and a second one over 100kg, weighing 100.240kg.
For his first tropical trip, Tony caught a 69kg a nice doggy! While he was at it, he caught THE BIG ONE of 100.240kg on 26 October 2012. Philippe and Laurent are not outdone as they catch two of 79kg and 73kg making the 3 doggies of 50, 50.5 and 51kg out being like whitebait! Just crazy!
For his 16th trip with us, Claude has been “spooled” his Stella by a beautiful black marlin. Fortunately he catches another one of 150kg. He has become “Mister Porte Chance”. He was already aboard while Christian Mercier became world record man, jigging, on 25 October 2007 with a doggy of 104.5kg. What will he set aside for his 17th trip… within 4 weeks?
Numerous yellowfin tunas and wahoos, from 25 to 30kg for the biggest ones, different trevallies( big giant trevallies), seriolas, jobfish, dorados, etc… complete these two 89h banks on Hawkins, with a total of more than 250 pieces of fish.
Most of them were caught on jigging tackle, making trolling all the more pleasant and sporty than usual trolling.
It is hard work to decide between those two teams French and Swiss! In order to avoid any diplomatic incident, we suggest they meet again in a next trip. Records are meant to be broken aren’t they?
