Philippe, Claudius (France) & Marc (Spain)

Marc, a fishing guide in Spain and Mongolia comes for his very first time in Rodrigues with Philippe his friend, who comes for the second trip while Claudius celebrates his… 20^th! This first 89h trip planned on Hawkins finally changed for a 86h trip on the Eastern Bank because of unstable weather conditions. The decision to release all billfish that can be will be applied quite soon with a sailfish about 40kg by Marc, a small black marlin by Claudius on his jigging tackle as well as with a giant trevally about 40kg by Marc. Usual species such as yellowfin tunas (19kg for the biggest), wahoos (22kg for the biggest) are well represented in trolling. In jigging dogtooth tunas are not that big (20kg for the biggest) but numerous. They are accompanied by seriolas, lugubris trevallies and jobfish.

If anglers are exceptional, so is the fight. Our 3 anglers relayed one another on a jigging rod (Pedro Custom Rods PE 8, Stella 14000 with 65lb tresse) for 2h and 15 minutes with a 15kg brake on a big shark.

Unfortunately or fortunately, the fish is the winner and so the anglers are full of nice memories.
