Alex, Bruno, Christian & Lucas (Gabon)
Extraordinary! For once, Hawkins looked like a mirror. Bruno, who came back for the 5th following year, just could not believe it. “I’ve never seen such a sea in Rodrigues!” Activity was good trolling, great on baiting and “not that good” on jigging. In this lake, without much current, we could see the amorphous fish come up to the bait and leave without any interest. However, a starving doggy came and hooked both lures of Bruno and Christian. Together, they caught the 191th doggy over 50kg aboard Black Marlin (51kg for this one). It was also the ideal weather to make a few popper castings and catch bonitos and yellowfin tunas. All the pieces have been caught on the anglers’ jigging tackle (several yellowfin tunas about 30kg, giant trevallies including Christian’s one of 31kg, wahoos, dorados, jobfish, barracuda tunas…). On the penultimate day, within less than 15mn, Alex catches his first black marlin of 150kg on live bonito. No worries Bruno, your black will be bigger next year!
