For the 4th following year, Gianni and his wife graciously joined us for 4 one-day trips. On the very first day, it rains cats and dogs (yeah, it sometimes happens in Rodrigues…) with nice wahoos, one sailfish about 35kg on trolling and a beautiful jobfish on bottom fishing . The following day is a festival of unhooked (sailfish and marlins), but activity is still nice as concerns yellowfin tunas (15kg for the biggest). After a greedy marlin’s strike (estimated 150kg) on a yellowfin tuna as live bait, we were astonished to see the marlin spit the tuna out, of which hook was in a big unicorn fish being in his stomach not for long! On the third day, weather conditions were improved (flat sea and sun) with yellowfin tunas (15kg for the biggest), wahoos (18kg for the biggest), 1 dorado and most of all a 51kg dogtooth tuna (the 204th doggy over 50kg aboard Black Marlin). After a few yellowfin tunas and wahoos, the last day is dedicated to the look for big predators. There was only one small marlin released.
