Louis & Christian (France), Patrick (Switzerland) & Laurent (New Caledonia)
For this first 34hours trip on the Stair, jigging is quite low. Laurent from New Caledonia could not catch the big doggies he wanted. Some wahoos were caught trolling and doggies and nice red snappers baiting.
For the 2nd trip on the Eastern Bank, Patrick replaces Louis. On the way through Marlins’ Bd, we are gratified by 2 blue marlins: one, about 80kg is released and another one unhooks after 25 min fight. Beautiful wahoos (26kg for the biggest) are caught trolling. However, jigging will comfort us with big eyes, Bluefin tuna and black trevallies. Either around Rodrigues or on the Eastern Bank, yellowfin tunas seem to have disappeared.
