Claudius , Denis, Pierre
This session was difficult for this fantastic French team because of weather conditions: much current, short and crossed swell as well as strong wind.
If the 2 first days and the additional day are around Rodrigues, the 2 others are spent on the Eastern Bank. Either around the island or on the Eastern Bank, activity is not extraordinary.
However, some nice pieces are caught among 20 species:
· On «Heavy spinning» Claudius catches a sailfish about 30 kg.
· Trolling, yellowfin tunas (21kg for the biggest by Denis), wahoos (the biggest of 25kg by Pierre) and dorados are caught.
· Jigging and baiting, dogtooth tunas (20kg for the biggest) jobfish, rainbow runners, bluefin and black trevallies, seriolas as well as the usual red ones (red coral trouts, two-spot snappers, lunar-tailed coral trouts, red rock-cods)
· Deep baiting: in difficult conditions, Claudius tried his electric combo. There was only a dog-shark caught by 320m depths.
The incredible atmosphere among these 3 mates, who did not even know each other, largely compensated low activity and weather conditions.
