INCREDIBLE! Sea is as flat as oil for 4 days! Sheer joy! Therefore, activity is also quiet, and fish bite less than usual!
While trolling, we unhook a blue marlin, on Marlins’ Bd.
On arrival on the Eastern Bank, Michelle and Jean Marie have fun on yellowfin tunas (the biggest of 25kg) and wahoos (15kg for the biggest).
Baiting, a few doggies (20kg for the biggest), black trevallies, jobfish, red snappers and rainbow runners complete the palette.
The high time of this session remains the caught of a very big tiger shark. He woke us up at midnight on a sleeping line. Jean Marie felt it quite heavy… It is only by the boat, leader in hand that we could estimate its length of 4 meters… just smaller than the boat’s width. ENORMOUS! Fight ended after a 3hours and a half fight and the release of this fish, in very good conditions. Our only regret is not to have been able to take pictures by night. If it is the 2nd tiger shark we catch within 12 years, for sure it is our biggest!
On the way back we find a beautiful oceanic white tip shark (carcharhinus longimanus), which offers an exceptional shows. You may find these photos and videos on our Youtube and Facebook pages at Rod Fishing Club ou Yann Colas.
Congrats Michelle and Jean Marie! You are extremely daring to make a 82h for your very first exotic fishing trip and also very lucky to have such a flat sea!
