Daniel, used to come to Rodrigues, matches up with Patrick, fisherman from the Atlantic for his very first aboard Black Marlin. Beginner’s luck only half worked with Patrick. He remained stuck during 1 and a half hour with a black marlin noir unfortunately hooked on the back, before it unhooked. They will have a great session with two spot red snappers before catching a nice wahoo of 24kg.
The 2 mates go back one week later for a 34h around Rodrigues. Sea is like a lake. We find the same as the previous days at the surface: many birds and tunas always more jumpers than biters. The only big yellowfin tuna embarked is 30kg.
The sunset will not bring much. However, bottom fishing is successful (blue and yellow strip emperors and other red snappers). Baiting gives nice pieces of jobfish, doggies and medium sized wahoos while trolling. Unhooks! Hey! If all of what had bitten… could have been caught or released!
