Christine & Philippe – France – regular customers of Rod Fishing Club, opt for a 34h around the island. Sea is not very comfortable (short crossed swell with some wind) which does not prevent from catching a nice wahoo and a few yellowfin tunas (25kg for the biggest) trolling.
On baiting, after some red snappers, Philippe catches one a little bigger. Yann thinks it could be a potential record and does not release it; knowing that all the IGFA rules were respected (fight and tackle). At night, this fish officially weighted 15kg.
If this world record is homologated by IGFA, Philippe DROUHIN would break the previous record by 500gr. It is actually held by Phillip’s usual fishing mate Anne Laure BRUNEAU. The most important is that this record remains in the Team… moreover in Bourgogne!
Congrats Philippe!
This fish, caught baiting on 12/12/2016, would also be the 12st Rod Fishing Club’s world record.
The following day, activity is still nice. On jigging, Philippe gets tired with a white tip shark, estimated 80kg before being released.
On trolling, looking for marlin, a small blue one quickly unhooks. Afterwards, it will be a festival with nice yellowfin tunas (30kg for the biggest ones) then dogtooth tunas at sunset (the biggest of 16kg)
Finally, it was 2 days of intense emotions for Christine and Philippe with an unexpected potential world record.
