It’s off for two big sessions on the Eastern and Hawkins banks in fairly pleasant weather with this superb French BGFCF team led by Marc, Claudius, Alain and Serge.
The first trip to the East Bank saw jigging and trolling a little more difficult than usual. Nonetheless, our anglers pulled out all the stops, insisting on slow jigging and good fighting, and 24 different varieties were tempted. Alain wreaked havoc, including a beautiful GT weighing around twenty kg on slow jigging Marco bagged the big red corail trouts and Serge caught a variety of fish!
As for the second trip to Hawkins, the size of the fish increased with, in particular, a 72kg dogtooth tuna by Claudius (the 269th over 50kg since the start of our activity). Other nice dogs were caught, as well as some good yellowfin tunas on trolling.
Unfortunately, an engine failure forced us to leave the bank and join Rodrigues earlier than planned. But that’s all in the balance, gentlemen!
