The chili team - www.rodfishingclub.com - Rodrigues - Mauritius - Indian Ocean
Denis, Pascal, Patrick and Jeremie
Very nice weather for this 82h trip on the Eastern bank. We were lucky to have Jeremie Chanut from Reunion Island on a GPS tagging program on billfish in partnership with IFREMER. The aim is to get to know these fish better. We will broadcast the observations that Jeremie will transmit. Unfortunately, a sailfish unhooked and a blue marlincame to play by the boat following a dorado (see underwater video Hook Eye on our Facebook and You Tube pages)
Trolling is excellent with many small yellowfin tunas, wahoos and dorados – 38 kg for the largest yellowfin tuna and 16 kg for wahoo. This intensive activity has maintained the very good atmosphere of this team.

Curiously, there were only one small dogtooth tuna and a few small trevallies in slow jigging… Probably due to the strong currents (1.6 to 2 knots).
Denis and Pascal will be aboard for the next 82h trip.
