Tapani – Finland –
This year, Tapani our friend comes back, on his own, to “revenge”. As a matter of fact, last year, at the same dates, he lost a big marlin after a 1h30 fight. This time, both trips of 50h and 58h are dedicated to look for big game: 6 marlins were seen, 2 of them just touched the lures with their bill, 2 small blue ones were released, 1 unhooked and, once again, 1 big black marlin was lost after a 1h10 fight.
Weather conditions were pretty good for the 1st trip but a little less for the 2nd.
Tapani had made exciters customized with the different colours of the nationalities (Finland, France and Mauritius). To avoid diplomatic tensions we shall hide the most successful colours.
Some wahoos, yellowfin tunas were caught trolling. Tapani explained he came to Rodrigues to catch big marlins for its difficulty. Isn’t it true nature of fishing, were patience and determination end up with success?
