And off we went with our Danish team of Allan, Heino, Flemming, Nicolai and Thomas for two trips of 89 hours on Hawkins and 58 hours on the Eastern Bank in glorious weather.
The fishing was still difficult due to the good conditions and very little current. But our warriors came out on top by breaking two club records: the number of species caught on 1 and 2 trips.
The first trip to Hawkins saw 32 different species caught, smashing the previous record of 27, and the second trip east saw 38 species caught.
Some fine yellowfin tuna, wahoo and a blue marlin were caught while trolling. Another marlin was unhooked on the final day.
Jigging and bait fishing rewarded the efforts of our anglers with magnificent dogtooth tuna, 5 species of trevally, large red corail trout / red snapper, jobfish and a number of groupers.
Some of the fish are unknown to the public… Their photos on the net will tell us more.
A great 100% Danish team, incredible weather and a great club record. Well done gentlemen !
