Philippe, Marc & Bruno (France)
We benefited a small favourable weather window for an 82h on the Eastern Bank. Trolling activity is low except a nice well-sized wahoos rise (28.5kg for the biggest) and small yellowfin tunas.
Jigging and baiting are quiet as well, on daytime. However, night time is JURASSIK PARK! Never seen that within 10 years time. We had astonishing broken ups (not rods) all along these 3 nights bottom fishing. What a feast was offered to ubiquitous sharks... At least 10 doggies were lost this way! A real nightmare! Just like a cemetery for hooks and jigs. The biggest survivor was 27kg. We tried everything: increasing leathers’ size, boosting brakes, all was in vain! Weather conditions did not allow us to follow fish properly.
Bruno, who usually dives with sharks everywhere on earth, refused to get in after the first jigs tries! We even had to get off the Eastern Bank during the 3rd night to carry on fishing Western on the 4th day.
There still is a 89 hours trip to go, but weather is not encouraging!
